Game Connect Asia Pacific 2012

Inspire Returning to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and partnering with the Game Masters exhibition at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, the Game Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) 2012 conference is once again shaping up to be another landmark event for the Australian game development industry. For 2012 we have chosen Inspire as the central theme. The keynotes at GCAP 2012 Inspire will be delivered by industry participants that have changed the way game makers think and create content. The sessions this year will be longer, making certain that delegates have an appropriate amount of time to learn, and come to grips with, best practices in the modern games industry. Tools and technologies will be presented in a series of practical workshops and tutorials to ensure the application of any new system into a studio environment is as effortless as possible. The conference will also focus on the future opportunities available to game developers, beyond the current and popular formats, and explore new technologies on the horizon. Program GCAP 2012 Inspire will consist of a number of tracks, including design and production master classes, technical lectures and in-depth dissections of the two most popular technologies used by developers today, Unity and UDK. The event will also feature detailed discussion of the free-to-play space and explore platform opportunities beyond the current app markets. Speakers Robin Hunicke Chris Avellone Lesley Mathieson Mark Rowley Jeff Lyndon Sherri Graner Ray James Tan Brian Sapp Russ Morris Andy Brammall Seon Rozenblum   GCAP 2012 App GCAP is going eco-friendly and smart. In 2012 we are minimising our environmental impact by limiting printed materials and creating an optimised mobile app that doesn't require a download and runs on all popular platforms, including the iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Palm, Windows Mobile, Nokia, as well any tablet device such as the iPad and Galaxy. The app will feature an interactive agenda; attendees can create and edit their schedule on the go. Speakers and sessions are easily searchable. Attendees can create detailed profiles and search the entire listing to find exactly the right people they want to meet.
