Disney's "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" features a beautiful city named Alamut as digital set. In the design and testing of the city layout in the pre-production phase, CityEngine was involved.
Disney's motion picture "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" is an epic action-adventure from the team that brought the "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy to the big screen. For the design of the impressive Arabic city Alamut during pre-production, CityEngine was applied for the quick ramp up of the digital set and to test the layout. Afterwards, in post-production, the final shots were conducted by MPC using their own tools.
The movie is currently playing in theatres and we heavily recommend to go watch it - fantastic production design, entertaining story and breath-taking visual effects guaranteed.
PS: And also some nostalgic memories will be triggered for those who enjoyed playing Prince of Persia on the Atari/Amiga back in the days.
